Economics Students Among Finalists in 2023 Three Minute Thesis Competition

April Burrage and Debamanyu Das, both graduate students in Economics, are among the finalists for this year's UMass Amherst 2023 Three Minute Thesis competition. The final round in the competition will be held on March 3, 2:00-3:00 p.m., in the Old Chapel. The entire UMass Amherst community is invited to attend.
The Three Minute Thesis is a popular competition that has become a global phenomenon and offers graduate students the opportunity to communicate the significance of their research to a general audience in three minutes or less. Students are not allowed to use any props or presentation materials - the content must be communicated through spoken word. This final event will feature engaging presentations from UMass graduate students who advanced through preliminary rounds. The winner of the competition will receive a $1,000 prize, with a runner-up and people's choice each receiving a $500 prize. Winners will be announced live during a reception following the student speakers.
