Understanding Suicide among Older Adults in Bogotá, Colombia: A Mixed-Methods Approach

This project explores suicide among older adults in Bogotá using a mixed-methods design, including a systematic review, survey analysis, and a photovoice study. By integrating social determinants and critical perspectives, it aims to inform public health policies and interventions that promote mental well-being in aging populations.

Embodied Transitions: Female Ex-Combatants and the Gendered Realities of Colombia's Post-Agreement Period

After Colombia's 2016 peace agreement, female FARC ex-combatants face the stigma of war and the burden of reconciliation. This project examines how they reconfigure their gendered subjectivities, navigating social expectations and the traces of violence while redefining their imposed roles in the post-conflict era.

This ethnographic inquiry takes place in a novice Spanish classroom within a predominantly White school. Through observation, interviews, and thematic analysis, I examine: How do heritage Spanish speakers perceive their linguistic identities and roles in a novice Spanish classroom compared to L2 learners?
