Diane Curtis

I bring a non-traditional path to my teaching and advising: years of AIDS and women's health activism led to law school and a career as a litigator, first in reproductive rights, and then in domestic violence and family law. I have been a pre-law advisor since 2004, developing a strong commitment to increasing access to legal education and diversifying the legal profession. I've taught in law schools, in a paralegal certification program, and, since 2008, at UMass. My current teaching focuses primarily on constitutional law, the intersections between state power and individuals and their families, and legal reasoning.
