About

My teaching and research interests include the politics of war law, transnational advocacy networks, protection of civilians, humanitarian disarmament, and the role of popular culture in global human security policy. I have a particular interest in the gap between intentions and outcomes among advocates of human security. I work with graduate students who have an interest in international human security norms. In the past, I have hired graduate student research assistants to help me with focus group research, survey experiments and qualitative text analysis. I have co-authored with graduate students on human security agenda-settingpublic opinion on the laws of war, and political science fiction.
