I'm a political sociologist specializing in policymaking processes. My comparative work focuses on institutional change in the areas of labor and race, exposing the power dynamics behind legal reforms, and on the long-term consequences of legal change. In my published and forthcoming research, I engage in methodological and substantive debates by leveraging diverse methods and cross-country comparisons. I believe contrasting cases and methodological pluralism are some of the best tools there is for answering questions about why things are the way they are.
