Public records can be requested for any accident, arrest or incident that occurred on the UMass Amherst campus. Pursuant to 2017 Mass. General law, all public records request are strongly encouraged to be filed electronically. In order for UMPD to communicate with you in this manner, it is important that you provide us with a valid email address that is checked frequently. Once filed, you will receive an email confirmation of your request and our response will be sent to you via email. To obtain an accident, arrest or incident report for a claim being process through an insurance company, you must contact the insurance company and have them make the request via email.

Honor Guard
The UMPD Honor Guard members are officers with regular day and night shifts who volunteer to represent the department in our community and nation. The Honor Guard:
- Presents the colors at events such as Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics games
- Participates in community parades
- Performs ceremonial duties to honor officers who died in the line-of-duty
- Participates in funeral rituals of the deceased of retired and current employees of the department
