Student Spotlight: Stanley Aneke
Stanley has a passion for research and always dreamed about being a scientist when he grew up. Becoming a biochemistry major gave him the skills to become a scientific leader and thinker.
Currently, he is doing research at the Rotello Lab in the Department of Chemistry here on campus, where he conducts testing of antimicrobial polymers against bacterial biofilms. He also is a proud Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) scholar, that implements programs that support and encourage students in the STEM field. He hopes to "inspire more students of color to pursue STEM."
As for his future after graduating, Stanley hopes to go to medical school to pursue his goal of becoming an infectious disease doctor. His goal is to be able to protect the health of marginalized communities.
Stanley's advice to students to never give up and to stay motivated with your end goal on your mind! He states, "You can soon make a change and save lives in the future, that should fuel you!"
He states that the best part of CNS is "the research opportunities across all majors, it is truly inspiring to see everyone excelling in their own elements."
