Student Spotlight: Karmen Diep

Karmen Diep is a first-generation senior pursuing a dual degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, and psychology. She has a passion for becoming a research scientist studying neurodegenerative diseases. Studying at UMass has allowed her to have hands-on experience with research here on campus.
Karmen also serves on the executive board for the Taiwanese and Chinese Students Association! She is an undergraduate researcher in the Pak Lab and is working on the study of neurodevelopmental diseases using brain organoids.
