Dr. Lara Roach Is the New CNS Director for Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Success and Diversity

The College of Natural Sciences at UMass Amherst is excited to welcome Dr. Lara Roach as the new Director for Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Success and Diversity.

Lara recently earned her PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University. During her time at Harvard she gained extensive experience working with both undergraduate and graduate students as an IMSD and PREP Program Coordinator for the UMass Chan Medical School and as Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Fellow in the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and in Harvard’s Office for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging.

Lara’s role in CNS will focus on building community and enhancing recruitment and retention efforts for all graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, with a focus on individuals from underrepresented backgrounds.
