Brenda Barlow

Brenda Barlow is an Assistant Dean in the CNS Advising Center in the College of Natural Sciences. She joined UMass Amherst in 2012 and worked as the Director of Advising in the Commonwealth Honors College for nine years before she joined the CNS team in 2020. Barlow has over 20 years of experience in academic affairs, advising, student success, and supporting students in crisis. Her personal experiences navigating college as a low-income, first-generation college student, inspire her to develop initiatives and programs to better support students from diverse backgrounds. Barlow has a BS in Psychology from Stonehill College and an MS is Nonprofit Management and Public Policy from the Milano School of Policy, Management and Environment.
