Student Profile: Jalique Pierre '23
English major Jalique Pierre '23 says he loves English "in all its mediums." Through the HFA Summer Internship Scholarship, he spent the summer working at GrubStreet Boston Writers of Color Group, furthering his passion for good stories that inspire others.
"This internship gave me experience writing professionally," says Pierre. "Whether it may be reading a book, reading an article, watching a video, or listening to a podcast, I always enjoy a good story."
His love for storytelling goes beyond just being a reader; he hopes to someday create those inspiring stories, too.
"I want my story to be among the good reads in the world and I hope my story inspires others to pursue the career and life they want to have. I always strive to do is to put my best foot forward when it comes to doing my writing," Pierre says. "One day, I want what I produce to change someone's life for the better.
