External Funding
Acceptance of new applications for most types of funding is paused until mid-September. If you are presenting at a conference between 7/1/23 and 9/20/23 and would like to request funding, please contact HFA's Director of Faculty Development and Programs, afleig [at] umass [dot] edu (Amy Fleig). Funding requests for conference presentations occurring after 9/20/23, as well as requests for all other types of funding, will be processed using a new application system starting in mid-September.
HFA faculty members have secured grants and fellowships from prestigious funding organizations such as the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Council of Learned Societies, the Ford Foundation, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Recognizing the value and benefit of off-campus funding, the College of Humanities and Fine Arts is committed to helping faculty members identify potential funding sources and prepare competitive applications.
All HFA faculty members planning to submit an application for external funding are required to complete the HFA Faculty Award Tracking form that is part of the campus' grant tracking/management system, Kuali. This should be submitted prior to the funding deadline.
