When you next visit South College, you may notice a new, striking pyramid statue in the lobby. This aluminum sculpture is by celebrated pop artist Keith Haring and is part of the University Museum of Contemporary Art’s permanent collection.
HFA is thankful to UMCA for allowing us to display this beautiful piece of art in South College—a visual reminder of our existence as the creative and cultural heart of UMass Amherst.

The pyramid arrived in two pieces—first the base, then the sculpture itself.

A team first assembled the pyramid sculpture and its base.

Once the sculpture was assembled, a team placed protective glass over pyramid to keep it safe in the lobby.
