Professor Debbie Felton, Department of Classics, gave invited presentations at two different seminars in Madrid, Spain during the week of October 14. 

The first presentation, “The Uses of Humor in Ancient and Modern Ghost Stories,” was for the two-day seminar “Mito y tradición clásica en la literatura policíaca y de terror” at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (14–15 Oct.). 

The second was a keynote speech on “Interpreting Monsters: Approaches to the Cyclops Polyphemus” for the sixth annual Mythical Projections seminar held at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (16 Oct.).
