Topics in Advanced Swahili I is an advanced course in Swahili offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course is structured around studying authentic language materials to answer essential questions with the target language. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials, intensive independent study, and a final oral evaluation, as well as collaborative contribution of course readings and discussion questions. Students studying Swahili will develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills through working with native-language, authentic content.
