Tuition and Fees
University Without Walls classes at UMass Amherst are charged by the credit and vary by subject area. Per credit costs for the Exploratory Pathways Program is $495. Additional fees may be applicable:
- Per semester registration fee: $60 (non-refundable)
- One-time undergraduate entering fee: $135
- On-campus class fee: $734 ($495 plus Continuing Ed Campus Fee: $239)
Types of Financial Aid
You may be eligible for many types of aid, including grants, scholarships, loans, work-study, military benefits, or employer reimbursement.
How Do I Apply for Financial Aid?
To be eligible for federal financial aid, you will need to take at least 6 credits a semester. To apply, you'll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The UMass Amherst school code is 002221. Learn more about applying for financial aid.
Aid is available for the summer semester as well, but requires a separate application.
EPP Scholarships
UMass Amherst offers two additional scholarships reserved for students enrolled in primarily University+ based programs, which includes all EPP students. Awards are made for fall, winter, spring, and summer. Apply here.
David A. Cole Scholarship Fund
The David A. Cole Scholarship Fund was established by David Cole in 1983. Mr. Cole is a former continuing education student who changed careers after completing the Real Estate Certificate Program.
This scholarship is available for students enrolled in primarily University+ based programs who are making career changes, demonstrate financial need, and are in good academic standing.
Miriam Williford Scholarship Fund
The Miriam Williford Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Dr. Miriam Williford, former University of Massachusetts Amherst Associate Provost for Continuing Education and Public Service, to continue her commitment to lifelong learning and non-traditional students.
This scholarship is available for students enrolled in primarily University+ based programs who are pursuing degrees or certificates, demonstrate financial need, and are in good academic standing.
UPay Payment Plan
UPay is an installment payment plan offered by the University. Payments are automatically deducted through your checking or savings account or credit card. There is a 2.7% fee for credit cards.
Because UPay is not a loan program, there are no interest or finance charges; however, there is a non-refundable enrollment fee. Learn more and sign up for UPay today!
