Academics
Within the Exploratory Pathways Program (EPP), you’ll work one-on-one with a dedicated advisor to complete general education requirements online first and choose the major and degree pathway that’s right for you.
EPP Curriculum
Take the classes you want, the way you want. Go part-time and switch to full time. Go fully online or partially on campus. The Exploratory Pathways Program lets you explore the path that works for you while providing the same high-quality UMass Amherst education as a traditional full-time campus student, start to finish.
In the first year, you will focus on completing general education requirements and first-year major requirements. Within two years, you'll declare which degree is right for you and be that much closer to completing your bachelor's degree.
University Academic Requirements for Graduation
- 120 credits to graduate
- Minimum of 45 credits earned through UMass Amherst
- Completion of General Education Requirements
- Completion of the Major Requirements (dependent on which degree path is chosen)
- Maintain a minimum of 2.0 cumulative grade point average overall and in major
Which Degrees Can I Choose From?
Outcomes from enrolling in the Exploratory Pathways Program may include completing your degree fully online or in a blended on-campus/online experience. Online and blended options include the UWW BA/BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, Isenberg Bachelor's in Business Administration, Stockbridge BS in Sustainable Food and Farming. Pathway students who meet the UMass Amherst transfer admissions requirements may choose at some point to continue their experience in our on-campus undergraduate program (space permitting).
How Long Will It Take Me to Complete My Degree?
That depends on how many credits you take each semester, and whether you enroll in classes year-round or only during traditional fall and spring semesters. For example, if you take 2–3 classes each fall, spring, and summer semester, you can complete your degree in 4–5years.
