Campus Walk & Talk
Monday, September 7, 5-7pm, Goodell 633
Enjoy free drinks and snacks, then join me (Moses) for a guided campus tour! As a UMass Tour Guide, I’ll share the best study spots, show you how to navigate campus, and give you tips and tricks to make life at UMass easier. Most importantly, this is a great way to meet other transfer students and start building your new community here. Let us know you’re coming! Are you a student parent? Feel free to bring your kiddos! The campus walk is stroller and wheelchair friendly!

Success Pit Stops
Pit Stops are offered during the fall and spring semesters beginning the first full week of classes through the end of finals.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed navigating UMass and all it has to offer? Need answers but you just don’t know where to start? Make a pit stop! Success Pit Stops are weekly support hours for first-gen and transfer students specifically designed to connect you with college success resources and equip you with the tools to access them. Several 30-minute 1:1 appointments are offered throughout the week.
Transfer Success Seminar
As a transfer student, you probably have many questions about your new campus and community! Consider enrolling in the Transfer Success Seminar. In this seminar, you’ll learn the importance of and how to access the many resources and services designed to support your academics and personal life on campus. You’ll identify programs you may want to participate in, connect with other transfer students, and learn a lot about UMass! To enroll in the Transfer Success Seminar, connect with your advisor or register on SPIRE before Add/Drop.
Transfer Residential Academic Programs (RAP)
For Fall 2026, we will offer two Transfer RAPs located in McNamara Hall in the Sylvan Residential Area and John Adams Hall in the Southwest Residential Area.
- McNamara has suite-style rooms
- John Adams has mixed-gender floors.
Check the RAPs and Join a RAP pages on the RAP website for information about Transfer RAPs and instructions on how to join one.
Joining a Transfer RAP is a wonderful opportunity to acclimate to the UMass community, learn about all the resources and opportunities, and develop relationships with fellow transfer students. Students in the Transfer RAPs will live together and enroll together in a designated section of the Transfer Success Seminar.
Transfer Newsletter
Want to be in the know about all things transfer student-related? You’ll be automatically enrolled as a transfer student to receive the monthly campus Transfer Newsletter. This newsletter contains resources, events, and information relevant to transfer students. If you want to submit content or share your story, be in touch!
National Transfer Student Week:

National Transfer Student Week at UMass is a week-long celebration of you, our incredible transfer population! Join us for a variety of events that will build new connections with fellow students, faculty, and staff, learn about campus resources, and opportunities to expand your horizons.
