National Student Exchange
The National Student Exchange is a network of over 170 universities and colleges in 48 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Through National Student Exchange, UMass students can study at another college or university, allowing them to live in another geographic area, access courses and facilities not offered at their home campus, and broaden their undergraduate experience.
To research all participating institutions please refer to the NSE website.
University of Massachusetts Student Exchange
The UMSE is an exchange between the Universities of Massachusetts Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell.
How do I apply for Domestic Exchange?
Attend an information session where all the application materials will be available.
Do I apply directly to the exchange schools I'm interested in?
No. There is one application for all schools, which will be given to you at the information session.
Will a semester on exchange cost me more than a semester at UMass?
We try hard to work with you to find an exchange that won't cost more. You'll have a one-on-one appointment with our experienced coordinator before you turn in your application.
Can I use my financial aid for an exchange?
This depends on your individual circumstances and we will work with you to find an exchange that meets your financial needs. Attend an information session and learn more about financial options!
