Jasmine Kerrissey, sociology and director of the UMass Labor Center, has co-authored an article featuring a brief history of union strikes in the U.S. The history is offered in response to the recent strikes held in 2023.

"Today's strikes may seem unprecedented, especially if you're under 50. While this wave [of strikes] constitutes a significant change following decades of unions losing ground, it's far from unprecedented," the article notes.
