Juravich & Plowden Explore the Forbes DEI Rankings

Tom Juravich, labor studies and sociology, and Labor Center alumnus Erik Plowden recently authored a working paper based on the principles of survey and social research. The report discusses the methods used to determine the Forbes DEI rankings and suggests ways to improve corporate DEI assessments.
"We cannot rely on the Forbes Diversity listing as an objective measure of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," note Juravich and Plowden. "It is little more than a public relations tool, for which high listers can pay Forbes to promote their firm."
