CJLS Community Talk
Content
As a campus, UMass is a microcosm of the polarized national and international debates taking place around us. We are facing our own troubled times in striving to uphold the democratic ideals we hold dear as a university on open and critical dialogue, free speech, and the right to peaceful dissent.
This series is a part of the Democracy in Troubled Times initiative and aims to address the challenges democracy faces in the U.S. and elsewhere. It combines opportunities to learn about politics, reflect on old and new challenges facing democracy, and act to strengthen and enrich democratic politics.
Sponsored by the Center for Justice, Law, and Societies, faculty will offer insights on current events related to federal law and politics. Questions from the audience and open exchange on areas of concern in federal policy will be welcomed.
All students, staff, faculty, and community members are welcome to attend.
