Career Pathways for Undocumented Students Workshop
Content
This one-day workshop, designed for student-facing staff, administrators, and faculty from the Five Colleges, will provide a better understanding of the challenges faced by undocumented students, students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), students with Temporary Protected Status (TPS), students who are asylum seekers, and students from mixed status families.
The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with tools for advising students facing immigration issues about opportunities to thrive and find employment after college. We will cover the basics of immigration and employment law, entrepreneurial pathways and licensing, and employment-based sponsorship. The group will also brainstorm the systemic changes needed at our institutions to best support these students.
