About

My research centers on judicial policymaking in American politics, with a particular interest in the power of courts in the American policymaking context, and the implications of according policymaking power to judicial institutions in a democratic political system.

My work has appeared in The Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, The Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, Political Science Research & Methods, The Journal of Law and Courts, American Politics Research, and other journals.

I am happy to work with graduate students interested in subjects like judicial decision-making and opinion writing, text-as-data research, the separation of powers, media coverage of judicial institutions and decisions, and the influence of courts in the policy process.

For more information on my current research, prior publications, and current and prior course offerings, please see my personal website.
