Dan Hebert with a sunset behind him, smiling

Join us in celebrating the scientific legacy of Prof. Daniel N. Hebert, who passed away on December 8th, 2024. He served as a faculty member in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department for 27 years.

Dan was committed to understanding the processes involved in the maturation and quality control of glycoproteins. His research was instrumental in laying the foundation for our understanding of how glucose assists with folding and quality control of proteins secreted from cells via the endoplasmic reticulum. Work from the Hebert Lab has advanced our understanding of diabetes, genetic lung disorders, liver cirrhosis, Alzheimer’s, and many other diseases.

The Daniel N. Hebert Memorial Symposium will feature a series of talks from Hebert Lab alumni, Dan’s colleagues and mentors in glycobiology, and current Hebert Lab trainees. Come celebrate the seminal contributions that Dan and his lab have made on the ER homeostasis field!

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Registration is required, and more information is available on the Daniel N. Hebert Memorial Symposium website.
