Welcome to Mount Ida Campus Health and Counseling!
University Health Services' mission is to provide comprehensive medical care to a diverse population of UMass Amherst constituents and promote campus health in the broadest sense. We are located in the Heath, Wellness and Recreation Center (Building 8) at the south end of Shaw Road.
Action Items
1. Make sure you are registered for the UMass Patient Portal by becoming a patient. You will use the Patient Portal to submit immunization records and health documents, schedule health appointments online, view secure messages, and more. If you have trouble registering or accessing the portal, please review our FAQs or email uhsportalhelp [at] umass [dot] edu.
2. Opt-in for text messages from Mount Ida Campus Health and Counseling so you can receive important communications via text, including Zoom links for your telehealth appointments.
- Log in to SPIRE
- Once logged in, click Main Menu > My Personal Information > Phone Numbers
- Select Local and/or Cell Phone from the dropdown menu, make sure your cell phone number is listed correctly, and click Save
- Log in to the Patient Portal. Click the Forms tab, select Texting Opt In/Opt Out, and follow instructions to opt in

Sexual Assault: If you have experienced a sexual assault and would like to be seen by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), go directly to Newton Wellesley Hospital Emergency Room. To speak with a Mount Ida Nurse Practitioner or Counselor, please call 413-545-1802.

- Specialist care: case management and coordination of specialist care in the community, off-campus referrals for specialized/intensive care, and medication management
