COVID-19 Isolation and Exposure Guidance

UMass Amherst follows the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) guidance for when an individual tests positive or exposed to COVID-19. Isolation (positive test) and exposure precautions are important steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

We are located in Appleton House (Building 21), behind the Veterinary Technology Building.

Action Items

1. Make sure you are registered for the UMass Patient Portal. You will use the Patient Portal to submit immunization records and health documents, schedule health appointments online, view secure messages, and more. If you have trouble registering or accessing the portal, please review our FAQs or email uhsportalhelp [at] umass [dot] edu.

2. Opt-in for text messages from Mount Ida Campus Health and Counseling so you can receive important communications via text, including Zoom links for your telehealth appointments.

  1. Log in to SPIRE
  2. Once logged in, click Main Menu > My Personal Information > Phone Numbers
  3. Select Local and/or Cell Phone from the dropdown menu, make sure your cell phone number is listed correctly, and click Save
  4. Log in to the Patient Portal. Click the Forms tab, select Texting Opt In/Opt Out, and follow instructions to opt in
