GPD LAUNCH: New GPD Foundations & Updates to All GPDs
Content
This year the Graduate School invites partner departments to attend a fall kickoff event for our partners in graduate education. Previously known as our 'fall welcome,' this year's programming is designed to better prepare new and current GPDs with actionable resources and knowledge. To that end, we ask that at least one representative from your program should attend this year's GPD LAUNCH, happening on Friday, September 25th.
Please see below for our September 25th schedule:
9:00AM - 10:00AM: New GPD Onboarding
Attendance is optional for returning GPDs.
Hear from the Graduate School Dean, the Provost, and staff members from the Graduate School's support offices. Representatives from the Office of Global Affairs and the Office of Equal Opportunity & Access will also share resources and reminders. Hot coffee and beverages will be provided.
10:00AM - 11:00AM: Updates from the Graduate School
Attendance required for all programs.
Join us for an official welcome to the academic year from the new Graduate School Dean. The Graduate School will also share information regarding its new Office of Grants and Fellowships, and ongoing efforts to enhance Master's student career support. Hot coffee and beverages, along with breakfast pastries will be provided.
11:00AM - 11:30AM: Connect with Your GPD Community
Enjoy a cup of coffee and a breakfast pastry during a small roundtable networking opportunity. This is the perfect time to connect with experienced GPDs who may be familiar with a particular challenge, topic, or question you would like a second opinion on. Contact our team if you are interested in serving as one of our 'expert' GPDs!
