Nutrition: Public Health
Embark on a journey to improve human health and well-being through food. Nutrition is the study of food, food consumption, and human health. An excellent field of study for those with an interest in science and working with people, nutrition touches all aspects of human food consumption, from disease management to food security. The Department of Nutrition at the School of Public Health and Health Sciences at UMass Amherst provides the opportunity to explore the many facets of human nutrition at greater depth, and prepares students for careers in a variety of settings from health care to fitness and wellness programs, nonprofits and businesses to private practice.
