Independent Study, Practicum or Internships
The following instructions pertain to:
- Campus students enrolling in an IS/Practicum in Summer or Winter
- Undergraduate students in a program administered through the University+ session and Undergraduate-Level, Non-Degree students enrolling in an IS/Practicum in any term.
If you are a campus student enrolling in Summer or Winter, please make sure you have activated your Summer or Winter enrollment appointment before requesting enrollment into a course. Once activated, please proceed to the instructions below.
If you are a non-degree student enrolling in Summer or Winter, you need to have both (1) an active record and (2) an active enrollment appointment before requesting enrollment into a course. If you are not currently active, please submit the Non-Degree Enrollment Form. If you are already active, please make sure you have an active enrollment appointment for the term in which you want to enroll. Once you have confirmed you are active and have an active enrollment appointment, please proceed to the instructions below.
NOTE: Any enrollment holds must first be cleared by the student before the Registration Office can process enrollment requests.
Please work with your Faculty Sponsor to complete and submit the Academic Department Independent Study/Practicum Request Form. Your faculty sponsor will not be able to sign and submit the form until they have coordinated with their department to create the appropriate Independent Study or Practicum section. Once signed off by the faculty sponsor, the University Registrar’s Office will process the request and will send the student an email confirmation.
