Amenities

A parent studies inside the Center at Springfield.

City Walk Food Court

One of Tower Square’s most distinctive amenities is its food court. One favorite, Le Greque, opened with the building in 1970 and remains a popular lunchtime option. Springfield Center students, faculty, and staff appreciate having an array of food options just down the hall on the second floor. You can pick up lunch to go or sit down and enjoy it at a table in the bright, spacious dining area. It’s also a great place to grab a healthy breakfast (or lunch) at Revitalize, the latest addition to Tower Square’s lineup. No matter what you’re hungry for, the food court delivers.

Fitness Center

The YMCA of Greater Springfield offers memberships to its Fitness Center located in Tower Square. A membership provides users with access to high-tech fitness equipment, engaging group classes, and fitness coaching. There are also private changing rooms and lockers in the 16,000-square-foot fitness facility on the second floor. For UMass students, faculty, and staff, the Fitness Center is accessible and convenient.

Learn more at YMCA Membership Services.

Childcare

The YMCA of Greater Springfield provides a range of childcare programs, including infant care, preschool, and before- and after-school programs for hundreds of families. In December 2019, the YMCA of Greater Springfield moved its childcare services from Chestnut Street to Tower Square, opening a spacious 15,000-square-foot location on the first floor. For UMass students with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, the convenient access to quality daycare substantially reduces pickup and drop-off times and adds considerable peace of mind.
