Publicly Engaged Social Science Research

ISSR collaborates with the Public Engagement Project to build scholar skills and confidence in their pursuit of broader impacts. Together, ISSR and PEP have helped to fuel the University's rising profile as a source for rigorous and relevant knowledge in important public and policy debates.

Racial Justice Education Project

ISSR has long promoted research on racial justice. With the rise of the Movement for Black Lives, we established the Racial Justice Education Project as a means of informing public debates on race with outstanding social science research.

Good policy needs excellent social science

ISSR is a member of the Consortium of Social Science Associations (COSSA), an advocate for the research community, educating policy makers on the need for federal funding for research in the social and behavioral sciences. COSSA's Why Social Science blog showcases the importance of these investments. Check out the COSSA Handbookand keep up with COSSA's Washington Update.
