If you wish, share a memory or reflection on your experience as a finalist. 

I remember OPD lined up storytelling and science communication workshops leading up to the event, which were really helpful in figuring out the language and story I wanted to tell. On the day of the event, I remember being really impressed hearing the other finalists tell their stories too. 

If you wish, share a sentence or two about how the 3MT impacted your career trajectory. 

The 3MT really made me think about how an audience understands information that they're hearing. I got more interested in figuring out how to work with people from different fields or sectors, and communication was really important there, especially when I went on to work more in the science policy space.

I'm glad the 3MT is still going strong at UMass Amherst!
