NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program: Info Session

Learn more about the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP), which is open to domestic students in STEM and social science programs. Undergraduates who plan to enroll in a graduate program in Fall 2027 and incoming graduate students starting the first year of their graduate program should plan to apply! The GRFP provides three years of support for graduate school and UMass has a high rate of success for our applicants! This session will provide tips for crafting compelling application essays, offer insight on what reviewers look for, and outline resources to help you develop your application. Students should verify their eligibility to apply for the fellowship on the NSF GRFP website.
NSF GRFP Writing Group Session 1
Thursday, July 23rd - 9:30-11:00am (online)
Launch your NSF GRFP application with our writing group! We will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 23-August 6, with each meeting featuring a deep dive on application components, "decoding" the review criteria, and focused writing time. By the end of the five session writing group you will have a draft of both the GRFP Personal Statement and Research Statement! Registering for the first session (July 23) will register you for the whole series.
Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Innovation Fellowship Writing Group: Session 1

We will meet Wednesdays 9:30-11am from July 29-August 26, with each meeting featuring a deep dive on application components, "decoding" the review criteria, and focused writing time.
