Sophie Schor

Sophie Schor, a PhD Candidate in Political Science with a focus on Comparative Politics, has been awarded the Doctoral Dissertation Research Advancement Fellowship from the Fulbright-Hays Program. This program supports research and training efforts overseas, which focus on non-Western foreign languages and area studies.

Schor has a B.A. in Government and Middle Eastern Studies at Smith College, and an M.A. in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her research focuses on the politics of everyday infrastructure through ground-up ethnographic analysis of public transportation infrastructure in Israel and Palestine. Schor will be conducting her dissertation fieldwork in Jerusalem
