Shivangi Bajpai, a doctoral student in the Department of Kinesiology in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, has received fellowship from the American Association of University Women (AAUW), a non-profit organization that works to advance equality and empower women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.
Bajpai’s work currently focuses on advancing measurement of physical activity and studying the association of physical activity with various health outcomes. Her dissertation work centers around exploring the benefits of wearable device metrics in monitoring cardiovascular health of Alzheimer’s and related dementia (ADRD) caregivers. Because caregivers are less likely to seek professional help for their personal health, Bajpai’s proposed wearable health monitoring technology can support the health of AD caregivers.
