Graduate Commencement 2027: Master's and Education Specialist Ceremony

The 2027 Master's and Education Specialist Commencement Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 21st at 9:00 a.m. in the Mullins Center auditorium.

All Master's and Education graduates must verify their eligibility to walk during the ceremony and register through Tassel by April 1st, 2027. Graduates do not need tickets to walk, but must be registered with the Graduate School.

Guest tickets will become available through Tassel once graduates have RSVPed. Guest tickets are required for all guests attending the ceremony.

Seating capacity at the Mullins Center is limited, and ticketing ensures that all graduates have the opportunity to have family and friends there to celebrate. Ticket quantities are determined in the spring based once most graduates have confirmed their eligibility and intent to walk.

Instructions for registering and reserving tickets through Tassel will be available in the early spring.

Determine your eligibility

1. Review the Graduate School's degree completion requirements for your program
2. Update your diploma name in SPIRE
3. Complete your Degree Eligibility Form on SPIRE

• If you have a FERPA privacy flag placed on your SPIRE account, email commencement [at] umass [dot] edu (commencement[at]umass[dot]edu) to have your name included in the commencement materials.
• If you need a visa support letter for your guests, fill out the letter request form.
