Developed for K–16 educators, the graduate certificate in the teaching of writing helps you build your capacity as a teacher and teacher-leader by providing a strong grounding in writing and literacy pedagogy. You’ll gain a deep understanding of learning to write and writing to learn through a combination of working on your own writing, reflecting on your teaching practices, and reading current research. This certificate is sponsored by the Western Massachusetts Writing Project, a professional development program sponsored by the University of Massachusetts Amherst Department of English and College of Humanities and Fine Arts.
