The graduate certificate in engineering project management and leadership (PML) is designed to equip the STEM professional or current UMass Amherst graduate student in a STEM discipline with the necessary skills and competencies to manage and lead engineering and technology-based projects. Certificate requirements include the following three courses (nine credits):

  • MIE 645: Project Budgeting and Finance for Engineers
  • MIE 664: Engineering Leadership and Entrepreneurship
  • MIE 670: Technical Project Management or equivalent

For students who want to further build their technology and engineering management and leadership abilities, the certificate offers a gateway to the master of science in engineering management, with all nine certificate credits eligible toward the completion of this MS degree.
