Unique offerings:

We offer courses in beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses in hand building, sculpting, casting, and introductory wheel throwing. Enrolled students who have trained in use have 24/7 access to our facilities which include a slab roller, spray booth, two extruders, Shimpo electric wheels, a separate space and tools for mold making, and a full range of glaze materials and equipment for mixing raw glazes.

Intermediate, advanced, and graduate students are allowed supervised access to glaze formulation and training on using our kilns. Students can create sculptural, functional, or combined types of pieces and are encouraged to pursue specific creative areas of interest within the wide field of 3D art using ceramic processes and mixed media.

Specific equipment in our studios includes:

  • Frederickson front loading electric kiln 16 cubic feet
  • Frederickson front loading electric kiln 12 cubic feet
  • 1 Skutt 1027 KM top loading electric kilns 7 cubic feet each
  • Paragon Small test kiln
  • 2 North Star Extruders, one 4-inch, and 1 Big Blue with dies
  • 2 Peter Pugger PM100 Clay mixers
  • Shimpo Whisper electric potter wheels
