This fully online, asynchronous, self-paced course provides essential foundations in pollinator ecology and habitat provisioning. Students have through Aug 31 to complete the program.

Landscape Nursery and Urban Forestry-In-personNew England Botanic Garden at Tower HillWant hands-on experience identifying significant landscape plants and their insect pests? This program will be helpful for participants looking to learn or brush up on scouting skills, or to expand their palette of offerings for clients. Join Mandy Bayer, Horticulturist and Landscape Plant Specialist, and Tawny Simisky, UMass Extension Entomologist, for a walk around the grounds at one of Massachusetts’ beautiful botanic gardens. The 2-hour walkabout will focus on trees and shrubs with particular seasonal interest as well as insect pests that are active and suggestions for management. Dress for walking; held outdoors rain or shine.
Green School 2026
Landscape Nursery and Urban Forestry, Turf-OnlineUMass Extension’s Green School is a comprehensive 60+ hour certificate short course that offers fundamental land care skills training in a compact time frame. The program is designed for green industry practitioners and both experienced professionals as well as those new to the industry will benefit from this course. The registration deadline is 10/21/26, pending availability of seats. Pre-registration is required. Seats will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
