Welcoming our neighbors in Springfield and beyond to discover, experience, and connect with UMass Amherst.
November 07, 2026 10:00 am - 2:00 pm ET
Join us for a dynamic half-day showcase highlighting the opportunities, innovation, and community that make UMass Amherst a destination for learning and discovery. While designed for students and their families from 6th grade to community college, this event offers a unique opportunity for anyone to explore the university's academic programs, research initiatives, student life, and support resources. All are welcome to join in exploration and curiosity!
Throughout the day, visitors will engage directly with UMass faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and conversations that bring research and learning to life. Attendees will gain insight into the wide range of research taking place across the university—from robotics engineering to the arts and humanities—and discover how that work impacts communities locally and globally.
The showcase will feature:
- Interactive research demonstrations and exhibits
- Student performances and presentations
- Information tables highlighting campus resources, programs, and student organizations
- Mini-talks from faculty conducting research and community-engaged work in Springfield, Holyoke, and surrounding communities
- Admissions and Financial Aid information sessions for prospective students and families
- Award winning UMass Amherst dining
- ...and more to be announced!
