In this interactive presentation, Dr. Webley will address the growing challenges of science denialism, declining vaccination rates, and widespread confusion about childhood vaccine safety and recommendations. In the wake of the COVID‑19 pandemic, and amid current measles and diphtheria outbreaks across the U.S. and globally—the seminar will clarify the evidence behind vaccines and the technologies used to develop them. Designed for a general audience, this session will present clear, accessible scientific information to help individuals protect themselves and their families from vaccine‑preventable diseases.

This event is open to the community and part of the UMass Springfield Center Faculty Lecture SeriesSponsored by the UMass Amherst Henry M. Thomas III Center at Springfield and the UMass Office of Equity and Inclusion. Dinner will be provided.
