Doctor of Nursing Practice Admissions

Note: We are unable to accept DNP students residing in AL, MN, NY, OR or WA.

Prerequisites and Admission Criteria

Applicants must meet the following entrance requirements: 

• A baccalaureate or master’s degree in nursing, or an associate’s degree in nursing and a non-Nursing baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited school or college of nursing with a grade point average of 3.0 (B) or higher
• A current professional license

Apply for the Doctor of Nursing Practice online through the UMass Amherst Graduate School. 

The following supplemental materials are required. You may upload these materials as part of the online graduate school application process:

• Academic writing sample 
• Statement of professional goals
• Current résumé or CV
• Documentation of professional licensure and certifications
• Two letters of recommendation
• TOEFL scores (where applicable) 
• Official transcripts from all colleges/universities you have attended
