Labor Center faculty research a range of issues important to workers and workers’ organizations. Our applied work often involves collaborating with community organizations. Our academic work explores the changing nature of work and workers’ organizations, and what these changes mean for workers. Graduate students regularly work with faculty on projects. Some recent projects include:

  • Surveying essential workers during early COVID
  • Examining how unions impact wages by race and gender
  • Tracing supply chain dynamics and working conditions of food workers in Massachusetts
  • Understanding how sub-contracting unfolds in the construction industry
  • Examining how labor rights impact safety standards in the Global South
