Matt Vautour, class of 1996, is a general sports columnist for MassLive.com where he writes frequently about the Red Sox, the Patriots, the Celtics and the Bruins. He moved to MassLive after 20 years covering UMass sports for the Daily Hampshire Gazette. Vautour recently was named among the top 10 column writers in his division by the Associated Press Sports Editors. The APSE awards, broken into four divisions based on circulation, are considered to be the top awards for sports writing in the country.
