Andrew Donson is a historian of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Europe, with a specialty on Germany in the era of the First World War. He holds a dual appointment in the History Department and the Program in German and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Julia Feldhaus teaches STEM German and directs the international Science Technology & Engineering Programs (iSTEP) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The main focus of her research is images of the New Woman during the Weimar Republic.

An Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Ela Gezen’s research and teaching focus on 20th and 21st century German literature and culture, with emphases on literatures of migration, minority discourses, historical and theoretical accounts of transnationalism, and literary and cultural theory.

As an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Mariana Ivanova's scholarship focuses on twentieth- and twenty-first-century German and European cinemas and cultures, theories of transnational filmmaking and coproduction, artistic networks, and cultural mediation. At the DEFA Film Library, she co-directs Summer Film Institutes and works within a vibrant team to support research and teaching of East German cinema in the US and around the globe.

Jackson is Associate Professor and director of the German and Scandinavian Studies program in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research and teaching areas include women's, gender and sexuality studies; theater and performance studies; the history and philosophy of sciences; and classical reception.

Kerstin Mueller Dembling is Senior Lecturer and Language Program Coordinator of the German and Scandinavian Studies Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As the language program coordinator in GSS, professor Mueller Dembling is in charge of the elementary and intermediate German language sequence, and she instructs the graduate TAs in second language teaching methods.

Jonathan Skolnik is Associate Professor of German at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with adjunct appointments in History and in Judaic and Near Eastern Studies. He is also core faculty in Film Studies and associate faculty in Comparative Literature. Professor Skolnik’s research and teaching focuses on German-Jewish Studies, intellectual history, and film studies.

Robert Sullivan is an Associate Professor and the Undergraduate Program Director in the German and Scandinavian Studies Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst

Justin Cammy is a literary and cultural historian with research and teaching interests in Yiddish literature, Eastern European Jewish cultural history, and contemporary Israel

Skyler Arndt-Briggs was Adjunct Faculty in the Department of German and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Executive Director of the DEFA Film Library

Frank Hugus has been offering courses in Scandinavian and German subjects at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since 1970. Over the years he has taught a wide variety of courses ranging from "Old Norse" to “Scandinavian Mythology” to "Hans Christian Andersen" to "The History of the German Language" to "Trolls, Giants, and Dwarves" (to name only a few).
