As an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Mariana Ivanova's scholarship focuses on twentieth- and twenty-first-century German and European cinemas and cultures, theories of transnational filmmaking and coproduction, artistic networks, and cultural mediation. At the DEFA Film Library, she co-directs Summer Film Institutes and works within a vibrant team to support research and teaching of East German cinema in the US and around the globe.

Jackson's first book reconstructs the formative role that women played on an off the stage in shaping not only modernist theater aesthetics and performance practices, but also influential strains of modern thought. Jackson is also Co-Editor of Feminist German Studies.

Kerstin Mueller Dembling is Senior Lecturer, Language Program Coordinator & Undergraduate Program Director of the German and Scandinavian Studies Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As the language program coordinator in GSS, professor Mueller Dembling is in charge of the elementary and intermediate German language sequence, and she instructs the graduate TAs in second language teaching methods.

He is also core faculty in Film Studies and associate faculty in Comparative Literature.
