LEGAL 250 Intro to Legal Studies is now LEGAL 101 Intro to Legal Studies! Same class with a different number. If you took Legal 250 as your introductory class for the major, you do not need to take Legal 101, but you can take classes that require Legal 101 as the prerequisite.

The Directory of Courses is an interactive spreadsheet of several requirement lists and can be sorted by topic. Feel free to ask an advisor for tips on using it most effectively.

This directory shows course offerings for the current enrollment semester and will be updated throughout the semester when changes in course occur.

At the core of Legal Studies is understanding the ways that law can be used to create and reinforce inequalities while also being a powerful force to ameliorate them.  From the introductory course to our upper division electives, our faculty teach a wide variety of courses focusing on race, ethnicity, racism, inequality, social justice, and related issues.  We also offer a Letter of Specialization in "Law and Social Justice."  We encourage you to consider incorporating courses on these important topics as you make your way through the Legal Studies major!
