Make a tangible impact on our students and College while collaborating and networking with fellow nursing alumni.
The UMass Amherst Elaine Marieb College of Nursing Alumni Board is led by dedicated board members who work to advance and support alumni, students, and the College. All alumni are welcome to join the board and attend virtual meetings. We meet four times a year, three times virtually in September, November, March; and have an in-person gathering in June.
Mission Statement: To foster a supportive, engaged alumni community that champions the mission of EMCON and contributes to its sustainable growth.
What can you expect when you join the alumni board?

Alumni Board Members
Priscilla Amankwah is a registered nurse and nursing supervisor with experience in long term care, rehabilitation, ventilator care, and case management.
Michael Bartolo is an acute care nurse practitioner, nursing podcaster, a member of the UMass Nursing Alumni Board and chair of the mentorship committee.
Paula Boylan has served on the board since 2023, with a focus on lasting alumni value and interpersonal connection. She is a proud RN, entrepreneur, and coach.
Kyle Kendall is an emergency nurse, educator, and Air National Guard medic dedicated to advancing healthcare, leadership, service, and alumni engagement.
Nellipher Lewis Mchenga is a nursing PhD, an associate professor at Fitchburg State University, and an EMCON alumni board member with a focus on events.
Babatunde Olatinwo is a critical care Registered Nurse at Baystate Health and an alumni board member committed to service and lifelong learning.
Marie Rohan's work has spanned hospitals, nursing homes, education, consultation, program development, and numerous community boards related to health.
Cheryl Sabola serves as clinical faculty at the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing at UMass Amherst. Her nursing background is in women's and infant care.
Christine Schrauf is a nurse and educator with a background in nephrology and workforce engagement. She teaches health policy at Elms College.
Cheryl Smith is a certified neonatal intensive care RN who has worked with women and infants at Baystate Medical Center. Her alumni board focus is on events.
Nancy Thompson is a clinical instructor at the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing at UMass Amherst and chair of the alumni board.
