Admissions: PMHNP Post-Master's Online Certificate

Admission Requirements

• MS in Nursing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Active RN license
• Psych mental health nursing experience preferred
• Completion of the "3 Ps" (Physical/Health Assessment, Physiology and Pathophysiology, Pharmacology) within 10 years prior to applying for the certificate program

Admission Process

1. Complete the initial application.  
2. After you have provided your contact information and 3P’s information, you will receive an "Invitation to Apply” to the program. You will receive access to a portal where you will upload all of the required admission documents. 

The Elaine Marieb College of Nursing works closely with the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) to ensure that accepted students meet ANCC requirements. We will review your transcripts and credentials during the admissions process to determine the plan of study that will be required  for certification.

Out of state students: The University of Massachusetts Amherst operates distance education classes and programs for out-of-state students under the terms and provisions of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). Due to certain states' restrictions on clinical placements for students enrolled in out-of-state institutions, we are currently unable to accept students seeking a clinical certification​​​ who reside in: Alabama, Minnesota, New York, Oregon or Washington. Any future changes to this policy will be posted on this page.
