Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Post-Master's Online Certificate
Expand your practice to populations with psychiatric and mental health needs.
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Post-Master's Online Certificate prepares nurses to meet the needs of the community by offering treatment for mental health and substance disorders.
This 28-30-credit online program is designed for nurses who have completed a master's degree and wish to expand their scope of practice to include the care of individuals, families, and groups with psychiatric and mental health needs. Preference is given to nurses with experience in psychiatric mental health nursing.
Students gain experiential learning through clinical practice in behavioral settings such as inpatient psychiatric mental health facilities, crisis stabilization programs, outpatient private practice, community mental health clinics, and psychiatric mental health partial and intensive outpatient programs.
Students who complete the program may apply for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certification examination.
